Project Portfolio Schedule

LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS

 Now that I've finished my first week working on this project, I'm going to be diving deeper into the process that I will follow for the next 7 weeks to develop, produce, and reflect on my film opening project.

COMPLETED:

Week 1: Initial Planning Stage

  • Intro to the final project and get a breakdown of the project
  • Select and research potential genres for your film opening
  • Discuss initial plans
  • Choose if you want to work alone/ with others
  • Brainstorm ideas

TO DO LIST:

Week 2: Research and Planning
  • Research film openings from your genre
  • Research credit sequences within your genre
  • Research filming techniques and ideas
  • Start thinking of the plot
  • Research how to make special effects (if needed)
  • Research editing techniques

Week 3: Planning and initiating 
  • Research media theory to integrate into film 
  • Summarize your project idea and major inspiration 
  • Create script and storyboard
  • Meet with instructor 
  • Reflect on feedback and insight
  • Modify and tweak storyline (if needed)
  • Start thinking of characters (create mood board)

Week 4: Development Phase
  • Develop characters
  • Develop mise-en-scene/ design costume, props, set, lighting, etc.
  • Develop audio/ find music
  • Design/ find special effects (if needed)
  • Design makeup 
  • Start buying supplies (if needed)

Week 5: Final research and Begin Production
  • Research production company logos
  • Create production logo
  • Create props (if needed)
  • Create the set
  • Create/ alter costumes

Week 6: Filming and Editing/ Research for CCR
  • Film scenes 
  • Gather music and sound effects
  • Record foley (if needed)
  • Record VO (if needed)
  • Edit clips together
  • Add title cards
  • Add color grading (if needed)
  • Add special effects (if needed)
  • Research for CCR questions

Week 7: Research for CCR and Brainstorm ideas
  • Prep for CCR 
  • Research how does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues
  • Research how does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text
  • Research how your production skills developed throughout this project
  • Research how did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project
  • Discuss CCR production ideas

Week 8: Filming and Editing CCR
  • Finalize ideas
  • Film scenes
  • Edit clips together
  • Reflect on the project
  • Submit links of the final project and CCR
